If you come to this site after seeing "Travels with Harry" on the TV. be warned that it was filmed maybe 4 or 5 years ago. Though the year-round population is always in danger of dwindling we do not currently have any housing. Keep an eye out on the Rental page for info. Seasonal rentals are available by the week, but you may have to book early to get the times you need.
My hope for this site is to help in the effort to improve the
problem of declining year-round population on this small island off Portland Maine,
as well as being a spot where our numerous summer residents can recharge in the
off-season. The idea is to bring a glimpse of island life
to the net, by publishing material from various island sources, such as the
Cliff Island Assoc. and the Cliff Island School. The winter population over the last few years had dropped to below 60
individuals with enrollment in the island school down to 3 last year. Our efforts have been successful, the school opened the '97-'98 year with 13 children. Since then 2 families have moved off the Island. One had not planned to stay here long term and the other had work conflicts.

Because some email addresses have been having trouble recieving the island mailings I am also posting them on Google Groups. As a subscriber feel free to add Island related posts.
