The Cliff Island School

Not only is Cliff Island School unique because it is on an island, it also is one of a diminishing number of one room school houses. This year('00) the school opened with 8 kids, grades k-5. Generally after the 5th grade students travel the boats to town to attend King Middle School and then Portland High School.

Thanks to all of you who bring your refundables to the Cliff Island School. Through your generosity, redeeming refundables has become the major form of fund raising for the school. Redeeming refundables brought in more than $1,200 last year.
This allowed the PTC and administrators to fund field trips and pay for swimming lessons for the island children as well as purchase special learning aides on a "as needed basis" for those students.
