The Kramer House
Kris Saunders and Bob Kramer’s house, also known as Waypoint.
It was purchased in November 1995, and rebuilt in 1996.
The original date of the construction is circa 1920’s.
The history of the house: Ruth Mistark's widowed mother came to the island looking to buy the Wilson house near the ferry dock. It was in poor condition, and she decided she wasn't interested. As she had to wait for the next boat to arrive, she asked Edgar (Bucky) Seymour, Jimmy's father, where she could have her picnic lunch. She was shown this house and fell in love with it. It is not clear who were the owners but Bucky either brokered the deal or had purchased it to sell himself. Ruth Howes bought the house. Ruth Mistark remembers coming the for her first visit with her son Chuck when he was in a carrier, probably in 1953. Ruth Howes sold the house in later years to her daughter, Kay Brooks (Ruth Mistark's sister) for $1. She and her husband Wendell lived here for many years until they sold it to the Saunders/Kramers.
