Here is a design from the drawing board of Phil Bolger who called her "Sandbox" first, but then changed her name to "Tortoise" when he found out that she deserved more respect than he had expected.
This boxy little punt will row easily with a heavy load, she can be launched dangling from her painter without shipping water, she is ugly enough so there is little chance that anybody would want to steal her, and she is simple to maintain. Our commercial fishermen vouch for her performance - they have used similar "boxes" with great satifaction for years.
To get her ready for the water, all you need is some paint, a set of oarlocks, and oars if you do not have those already.
For the sailing version Phil gave her a lateen rig for simplicity. He then sailed her himself for several years. If you feel like sailing her, you need a dagger board case, daggerboard, a rudder and spars.
Get your order in now- the boating season is here - and will be
over sooner than we expect!
