Grounding
On Sept 4th around 5 pm a 36' sailboat ran aground shortly after rounding the N point of the buff headed for Jewel Island harbor. Fog had started to roll in around mid-day and visability was down to less then 100'. Bubby was first on the scene and pulled off the 4 adults and a 6 month old baby, just as the boat rolled on its side. Joel and Earl were also in the area and assisted. Earl pulled the boat, on its side, into Coyles beach. Most of Sunday was spent using Cliff Island's talents to fiberglass the hole left by the keel, and righting the boat so it could be floated off the beach. The owner is between Dave and Benny in the 1st picture/ 4th row. mother and baby, the picture next to them.
